Into the Final Week
What a fantastic opening weekend! As I'm writing this, it's Monday, Feb. 20th. Our day off during the run. Three shows are in the books, with crowds nearly at capacity.
Come Connect
"I had no idea that I had ADHD until I was diagnosed as an adult," said one person as he stopped me to ask me what the show was about when I was putting up the last of the posters this week.
Meet the Characters
Time to meet some of the more interesting characters in Night Sweats. This is Hilda. Hilda lives in the East End of London.
The Magic a Director and a Good Stage Manager Bring
As we went into this week. I thought I really cracked the memorization of lines, and in a way I did. However, once you have to do the deed in front of your director and stage manager all of that goes out the window.
Three Days of Rehearsals
Here we are. Three days into the rehearsal process. Words are jumping off the pages. Fingers are flying across the keys. The laughs are being laughed and the tears are being shed.
Treasure Hunt
The past two weeks I and my crew have spent our time treasure hunting. In particular we’ve been searching for a late 70s early 80s television set that works.
I'm Scared!
I’m scared... or at least anxious. It’s the first week of January and for most people that means getting back into a familiar routine. For me it means jumping into a whole new routine... rehearsals for Night Sweats.
I’m ThatmanDan and This is How I Became Who I Am

Pooped, but Pumped
Anyone who performs and self produces must know this feeling. I have a small part-time job at Regina Performing Arts Centre, my job as Professional Development Coordinator with On Cue, my producer job for Night Sweats, as well as my now script editing job…
Annette on Fears, Nail Polish, and Angela Lansbury
Hey fellow Mouseketeers! So, I don’t know if you knew this or not, but it’s November! That means that “Annette is a Bimbo!”, aka the best slumber party ever, is only six months away! I’ve been getting asked all sorts of questions from teens…
Political Background to the AIDS Crisis
From my perspective the AIDS crisis emerged out of a time of Conservatism. Britain was just getting on it's feet after the war, there was labour unrest during the Heath years, and Maggie Thatcher would soon be Prime Minister…
Busy Weeks
This is a busy week. My schedule is jam packed. On top of my job with On Cue Regina and the three upcoming workshops Touring with OSAC (Nov 19), Finding Your Fringe Feet (Nov 21), and Marketing the Artist (Nov 26), there's the Grey Cup and all the festivities…
Fundraiser for Night Sweats
Things are starting to heat up and I'm beginning to sweat both night and day. As I await the announcement of a successful (or not) SK Arts grant, I'm having a fundraiser for the play on Nov 26th at Q Nightclub and Lounge. The doors are open at 7:30 and the action starts at 8 p.m. with a wine and cheese. Then there is a drag show…
