October Fest Craft and Vendor Fair at Northgate Mall

About

Northgate Mall will feature a day-long craft and vendor market with displays and demonstrations throughout the mall. A wide range of artisans and artists, local makers, small businesses, unique vendors, and delicious treats will be on offer and artisan work as well as food vendors will be representative of a diversity of traditional and contemporary cultural practices.

A demo and workshop on classical and contemporary Indian dance with Mohana Das

About

As an award-winning classical dancer, artistic director, and founder of Nirvana Dance Creations, Mohana Das will bring a broad knowledge of Indian classical and contemporary dance forms to this two-hour workshop. With over 14 years of teaching experience, Mohana has trained students across generations and abilities, including inclusive programs for diverse communities. Her performances span international stages and major festivals, including collaborations with the Regina Symphony Orchestra and productions like Rhythm of Life, reflecting themes of human connection. This workshop will take place in the dance workshop located near the food court. Space is limited so interested participants should register in advance to assure a space will be available.

Spoken word poertry workshop with Eric Gabriel

About

Spoken word poet Eric Gabriel will offer two, two-hour workshops for people interested in experimenting with spoken word poetry. For examples Gabriel will draw from his recently published chapbook, Dunes from the Sahara. These workshops are for beginning writers as well as more experienced writers who want to explore a different writing genre. The second workshop builds on the first so participants should plan on taking both workshops to get the most out of them. Space is limited so please register in advance to assure a spot at the writing tables.
