Meet our Artist in Residence
Flany is a Canadian performer, choreographer, and arts producer working at the intersection of dance, culture, and communication. As the founder of Kizomba Regina and the first Kizomba instructor in Saskatchewan, she has played a foundational role in building and growing Kizomba communities across the province, training several instructors and establishing a lasting presence for the art form in the region.

Who is Flany?
Specializing in Ginga and self-expression, Flany's artistic practice centers on bringing technique, personality, and cultural depth together into a cohesive artistic experience. Her work is rooted in exploring and dismantling colonial narratives that shape African and Afro-diasporic art, using performance as a vehicle for cultural education, identity, and community connection. Through both her artistic practice and DEI consulting work, Flany create spaces where people can reflect, connect, and move toward meaningful change together, helping organizations and communities amplify marginalized voices while reimagining how knowledge, history, and identity are transmitted.
Starting in September 2026 Flany will be an artist in residence with On Cue Performance Hub. She is expanding her artistic practice to include choreographic and multidisciplinary work, with a strong focus on interactive, immersive, and participative performance experiences.
