RECREATING COMMUNITY TOGETHER

With Arts and Cultural Communities

We have hosted symposia, conferences and public consultations focused on increasing greater cultural equity, diversity and inclusion across arts and cultural communities

Arts for Change Conference April 2025—Saskatchewan Arts Alliance

Building Cultural Equity 2026—Dance Saskatchewan, Inc; Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan and On Cue Performance Hub in collaboration with SK Arts

We have annually commissioned 4 artists from multiple creative disciplines and different cultural and racial backgrounds to develop a creative response to racism and colonization—with the emphasis as much on the process they develop to create together as the performative product they create.  The artists share insights drawn from their own cultural practices and experiences, including the history and cultural practices of Saskatchewan’s First Peoples. They also assume the ongoing role of a cultural catalyst for change in addressing racism at multiple levels.

We provide dedicated professional development for Indigenous and Black artists to work together in creating site-specific performance pieces for public production.
