Joseph Naytowhow is a Plains/Woodland Cree (nehiyaw) singer/songwriter, storyteller, and voice, stage and film actor from the Sturgeon Lake First Nation Band in Saskatchewan. He is renowned for his unique style of Cree/English storytelling, combined with original contemporary music and traditional First Nations drum and rattle songs. He is the recipient of the 2006 Canadian Aboriginal Music Award’s Keeper of the Tradition Award and the Commemorative Medal for the Saskatchewan Centennial (2005). In 2009, he received a Gemini Award for Best Individual or Ensemble Performance in an Animated Program or Series for his role in the Wapos Bay series. He was also awarded Best Emerging Male Actor at the Winnipeg Aboriginal Film Festival for his role in Run and won Best Traditional Male Dancer at John Arcand’s Fiddlefest in Saskatchewan. He has participated in conferences, symposia, forums, festivals and film sets across Canada, North America and around the world.

Rania Al-Harthi works in theatre, film, installation, Palestinian embroidery, and Arabic calligraphy. Her studio production consists of collapsed objects that incorporate sound, film projection, and performance. She is fascinated with themes of home loss, belonging, and racialized identities. Recent work concerns family displacement and nostalgic memories of the Dead Sea on the Jordanian–Palestinian boarder explored through an Intercultural performance installation. Current projects explore ideas of isolation and cultural memory during COVID-19 Pandemic. She holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Regina.

Aren Okemaysim is an interdisciplinary performing artist with a professional background in theatre and in music. He is originally from Beardy’s & Okemasis First Nation located in Treaty 6 territory and now lives in Treaty 4 Regina SK where he currently works with the Globe Theatre as a production staff member.

As a theatre artist, he has performed across Canada on stages such as Arts Club in Vancouver, Belfry Theatre in Victoria, Thousand Islands Playhouse in Ontario, Western Canada Theatre in Kamloops, Caravan Farm Theatre in the Okanagan region and even at the Globe Theatre here in Regina. He is also a devised theatre collaborator, producer, sound designer, and audio technician.

As a session musician, he has performed across the prairie provinces for more than a decade with a variety of local Saskatchewan artists ranging across many musical genres. He has also been in the process of writing, arranging, recording, and producing original music for a solo project that will be announced very soon.

Most recently, he has completed a residency at the Globe Theatre as an artistic associate with a focus in further developing his skills as a theatrical sound designer, audio technician, and as a devised theatre collaborator.

He has received formal theatre training through University of Saskatchewan’s Bachelor of Fine Arts Acting program and Globe Theatre’s Conservatory Actor Training program.

Ayesha Mohsin is a Pakistani Canadian artist, she immigrated from Pakistan to pursue her post secondary education. During her Theatre and Performance Bachelor degree at University of Regina, she saw the lack of diversity in Regina’s theatre community, she felt that if she wants to tell her story in her language then she has to develop a platform herself which was not already in place.

She founded Lexeme Theatre and Media Company. Lexeme is Regina’s immigrant language theatre and media company, Lexeme has successfully produced many multilingual projects in Regina. Ayesha Mohsin has always been interested in storytelling and how it brings different cultures together. She works at Mackenzie Art Gallery Regina currently as a gallery facilitator and also at Regina Multicultural Council as a teacher.

Ayesha is a Interdisciplinary MFA candidate at University of Regina. Her travels around the world has given her an opportunity to understand different languages and how it affects the traditional arc of storytelling.

Bongani Musa is a theatre artist who was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and currently resides in Saskatchewan, Canada. He graduated from the University of Regina with a BA in theatre and performance. He has acting credits in both theatre and film and has a growing interest in devised theatrical works. His acting credits include The Other Side of the River, Mine to Have, The Story (radio play), 4our (devised), Secrets From the Borne Settee (devised), Catherine Banks’ Bone Cage, Antigone, Terry Pratchett’s Mort, and The Caring Only Cry at Night (film), Mercy (film).

Mustafa Alabssi is a Syrian Canadian who immigrated to Regina in the fall of 2017. He became a member of the Deaf Crows Collective in 2018. His acting credits include the role of the “Clown” in Apple Time (Artesian Theatre, 2018, Globe Theatre, 2019, SoundOff Festival, 2019), “Ryan” in the Netflix series Black Summer (2018), and “Jaul” in Fable Deaf, a short film in post production with Moxie Films. He is slated for lead roles in the Deaf Crows Collective’s upcoming productions, 1000 Ladders Down and in Deaf Settlers. Mustafa also has experience in directing actors as he was an acting consultant for the University of Regina’s 4our, a devised theatre production in 2019, and directed “Jasper”, a deaf child actor in the film Fable Deaf. He has also participated in improv teams at the SoundOff Festival of Deaf Theatre in Edmonton in 2019 and 2020.

Mustafa’s forte is in devised theatre, clowning, physical theatre, and comedy.

Sky is a proud father of two handsome boys to whom he dedicates all his work. Taking classes at the First Nations University of Canada/University of Regina and creating his own work, he is also a theatre and indigenous art instructor for SUNTEP at the University of Regina. In fall 2020, Sky created and performed a piece with Pete Kytwayhat, as well as performed in a piece with the Curtain Razors, for the National Arts Centre Grand Acts of Theatre. This year, he developed an outdoor walking show alongside Greg Ochitwa titled, Holdin' on to What's Golden. Most recently, Sky curated, directed, and acted in a play reading series for the Globe Theatre, where he works as both Artistic Associate and Indigenous Liaison. Skyler was born and raised in Regina and he is nêhiyawak, from Treaty 4 Territory.
