On Cue Performance Hub hosts an evening with Jaime Boldt, Executive Director of Regina’s Globe Theatre and the design team of their renovation project P3 Architecture (P3A). P3A will lead a virtual tour of the NEW Globe Theatre—a sneak peak at what is planned for that space and the work that will be underway over the next two years.

There is much anticipation in the theatre community and among the wider community as a whole as to what the next stage in the development of this theatre will be like—and for good reason. The Globe Theatre has been a major player in Saskatchewan’s performing arts community since the 1960’s and an important feature in downtown Regina since the 1980’s. It has held the distinction of being Canada’s only regional theatre main stage in the round.

The Prince Edward Building Renewal Project

Globe Theatre is a nationally renowned center of exellence in the production of theatre-in-the-round, guest experience, and fostering the work of Saskatchewan artists.

In 1980, Globe Theatre found it's home in downtown Regina's Prince Edward Building with the intent of providing a world-class theatre experience for patrons and opportunity for artists, students and community alike.

The Prince Edward Building was built between 1906 and 1909 - standing tall in the heart of Regina's downtown. As with any charming heritage building, there comes a time where the space needs revitalization in order for it to function at its full capacity.

This project involves refurbishing this designated heritage building to address water infiltration, replace and fire-proof structural columns in the basement, repair and repoint masonry, and upgrade the mechanical and electrical systems.

Once completed, the work will make the building safer, more energy efficient, and more accessible - which will, in turn, strengthen our cultural communities and create a fresh, vibrant space for the arts.

In the interim, Globe Theatre will be moving to a temporary location, or locations, where our performances and theatre programs will take place until the completion of the renewal project.

Together, we are looking to raise community, corporate and personal donations to fund the renovation and restoration of the Prince Edward Building and the Globe Theatre facility.

Help us create an accessible, state-of-the-art performance space that inspires the future of theatre in Regina.
