Dance Saskatchewan, Inc and On Cue Performance Hub are inviting parents, families and kids of all ages to explore the arts and culture through drop-in workshops at Northgate Mall (near the food court) on Saturdays from September 13th through October 4th, from 12 pm to 2 pm, professional artists and arts educators will lead drop-in sessions where you can engage in dance and music, acting and visual arts, writing and poetry. All materials as well as snacks will be provided. Sessions are open to all free of charge thanks to the support of the City of Regina, Sask Arts and Northgate Mall. Come join us and get creative!

With a unique poetry style described by many as celestial, Eric Gabriel, also known by his pseudonym; Gabriel 'ArchAngel' Ehijie, is a Pan-African writer, spoken-word poet, screenwriter, copywriter, and aspiring filmmaker. The interdisciplinary artist and co-author of the collective novel ‘Isles’ is currently a student at the UoR, where he is taking a program in the M.A.P faculty.
Fondly called #astralpoet by his friends, Eric has been opportune to serve in the capacity of communications consultant for the United Nations arm stationed in Nigeria, between the years of 2021 and 2022. He is also an alumni of the EbonyLife Creative Academy in Nigeria, where his short film script; 'Shikari,' won the award of best screenplay for his intake. His spoken word poem, 'Omije’, which claimed the award for Best Soundtrack at the 2017 edition of the 'InShort Film Festival', Nigeria; having been featured in the short film ‘Ajeji,’ is a crowd's favorite that touches on religion, identity, and socio-political revolution.

I-Ying Wu is a somatic and improvisation practitioner, artist, and researcher whose work is deeply rooted in the Daoist philosophy of qi (Chinese internal energy). She earned an MA from the National Taiwan University of the Arts in 2006 and a PhD in Performing Arts from the University of Northampton, UK, in 2014. From 2016 to 2017, she served as a postdoctoral fellow at the Improvisation Studies Centre in the Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance, University of Regina, Canada.
I-Ying’s research and artistic practice reconceptualize improvisation as a spontaneous phenomenon emerging from a state of heightened consciousness in the present moment, guided by a Daoist understanding of qi-energy. Rather than perceiving improvisation as an art form, she approaches it as an inherent state of being, arising through subtle awareness that transcends the boundaries of specific artistic forms. Her practice integrates movement, mindful states, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, fostering deeper, holistic connections between the self, others, and the environment.

nêhiyaw Fine Artist Sadi Rose ᓴᕀᑏ ᒥᐦᑯᑲᐧᓂᕀ Vaxvick. Born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. Sadi currently lives in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Sadi is registered on Ochapowace First Nation on Treaty Four Territory. Sadi has achieved her degree; Bachelor of Fine Arts specializing in Indigenous Art from the First Nations University of Canada in 2023. Sadi’s main work is painting with acrylic on canvas and drawing on a large scale. Sadi also beads, creates sculptures with Brazilian soapstone and wood. Sadi joined On Cue Performance Hub as the Indigenous Liaison helping build strong lasting relationships with Indigenous artists and organizations. Sadi has also helped curate and direct "Re-Creating Community Together" 2025 performance show.

Danielle Dumelie is a Canadian artist, educator, and gallery administrator based in Regina, Saskatchewan, Treaty 4 territory. She received a BEd Art Education in 2007 with a Major in visual art and a minor in dance from the University of Regina. In 2020, Danielle received her Master of Art Education with a focus on studio art from the University of Victoria. Danielle worked as a curator and administrator for the Woods Artspace from 2018-2021. Following a year abroad teaching visual art in a Cambridge international school based in Tainan, Taiwan, Danielle began to pursue a Master's of Fine Arts. As well, Danielle is currently on the board of directors for the Art Gallery or Regina and working with Regina Public School with the Balfour Art Collective. Danielle mostly creates with oil and gouache paints. Her figurative work centers on themes of community, relationships, and the feeling of home.

Ann Kipling Brown is Professor Emerita in dance education in the Arts Education Program in the Faculty of Education at the University of Regina. She has worked extensively with children, youth and adults in dance teacher preparation, creative/modern dance, composition, and notation. She has also choreographed for theatre productions and continues her own work in performance and choreography. Her philosophy focuses on incorporating movement in education for a complete understanding of self, involving Laban Movement Analysis, a theoretical and experiential system, for the observation, description, performance, and interpretation of human movement.

Susan is a Cree/Anishinabe woman from the Cowessess First Nation in Saskatchewan. She is a 3rd generation survivor of Marieval and Qu’Appelle (Lebret) Indian Residential Schools. She has researched childhood trauma and how trauma experienced in residential schools has affected the lives of survivors, their children, grandchildren and First Nations’ communities. She has worked in education for over 40 years. She has a Bachelor of Education, Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Administration, and a Master of Education. Her experience includes primary teacher, superintendent, director, assistant professor, treaty education consultant, and curriculum writer. Susan has worked with Saskatchewan Nêhiyawak (Cree), Anishinabe, Dene, Nakota, Dakota, Lakota and Siksika First Nations’ Elders (Alberta) in developing teacher resources and curriculum. She was blessed to work with Elders and Knowledge Keepers for over 35 years. She worked for the Saskatchewan Office of the Treaty Commissioner and developed the K – 6 and 7 – 12 treaty education learning resources and the renewed K – 9 treaty education resources for teachers within the province who are mandated to teach about treaties in their classrooms. Susan worked for Kairos Canada and Regina Roman Catholic Schools promoting truth and reconciliation through Kairos Blanket Exercises and sharing her residential school experiences. She is currently working with Cowessess First Nation to decolonize school policies to create a safe school for children on her Nation and is developing Cree curriculum and content for the K- 12 school on Cowessess First Nation. She is the co-chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Committee at the Archdiocese of Regina implementing the Indigenous Reconciliation Fund for Indian Residential School survivor-led project as called for in the TRC Call to Action #61. She is a mother of two, a grandmother of five and a great grandmother of five. She feels that she has had many blessings in her life despite the many challenges she has faced in her personal life.

Kristy is a creatrix and trail blazer; she has a deep intuitive awareness and connection to spirit. A cultivator and generator of good vibes whether she is teaching yoga, belly dancing, drumming, flowing with fire, or LED lite props she brings vibrancy and energy to all she does. Kristy is an independent performance artist/dancer, educator, and director with over 30 years of experience.
Kristy believes our greatest opportunity to heal comes from modalities that allow us to move thru stagnant energy, muscle stiffness, injury and expand our awareness through body work. She is a yoga instructor of 15 years, also a Thai massage therapist, Thai Foot Reflexologist sound healer, and Reiki master. She has a rich her-story as a muliti-disciplinary artist intertwining; performance, dance, percussion, vocal, and arts education. She feels privileged to share her gifts weaving arts and wisdom traditions together and be of service to others.
Kristy is the director of The T.V.W.F Healing Centre. Located in the lower level of The beautiful Brownstone Plaza in Regina. At T.V.W.F they run an array of yoga classes, sound healing and other offerings including Thai massage. It is also the home base of her production company, Tribal Vibes Wild Fire Productions Inc, she co-directs with her soulmate Buzzroc.
Session description:
Through joy and playfulness participants will experience a heart centred session using the theme of circles, Kristy will guide everyone in learning a fun circle dance, be prepared to laugh and feel a connection to yourself and everyone else that's in the circle! Kristy will utilize electronic music, her djembe drum, and pom poms to share for all involved!!!
