A classic Brazilian tale of a selfish and lonely cat who falls in love with a jovial, cheerful, and curious swallow. A tender story of undeclared feelings and contained emotions, the transforming power of love, and a song to friendship, tolerance, and nature in all its manifestations.

The Spotted Cat and the Swallow Sinha is an exploration of a classic Brazilian fable that invites all audiences - but especially children - to sing, clap, and cheer right alongside the ensemble as they breathe life into the story of two star-crossed lovers as told by a cast of colourful & playful characters. The show brings the audience into fantasy and folklore with thoughtful use of clown, puppetry, and physical comedy. There is a clarity to the storytelling (embodied, spoken, or otherwise) that makes it a great joy to watch and would lend itself well to all manner of indoor or outdoor venues- Fringe & other festivals, fairs, parades, etc etc. There is something so earnest in the way this story is told that it cannot help but draw out the child within all of us, welcoming us into a world of love and play and connection and silliness no matter how old or serious we may be.”

- Avianna Hudym, Artist

The Spotted Cat and the Sinha Swallow has the makings of a huge hit for young audiences. Its engaging interactivity, high energy, and bright colours are a sensory feast, and the animal characters provide the performers with a delightfully broad palette of playful choices. Its 'love is love' theme is presented gently and joyfully.”

- Mark Claxton, Saskatchewan Association of Theatre Professionals
