April 1, 2022 | 7:30pm | The Lazy Owl, Riddell Centre
“Fools Rush In” is about giving all kinds of performers (in music, dance, performance, spoken word, hip hop, etc) an opportunity to grab the stage, the spotlight and our attention. We welcome performers of all ages (19+), genders and skill levels from brand new beginners to advanced performers. This is a safe space for amateur as well as professional performers to give us a taste of something new or risky you are working on—or simply show folks what you can do. Hosted by Chancz Perry.
This event is FREE to attend. Donations will be accepted.
COVID-19 Precautions
Masks will be required. Per University policy, cloth masks must be supplemented with a medical mask underneath.

In his performances, Chancz offers inspiration, distraction and/or education, using approaches that are traditional, progressive, critical, or a mix. “I hope people take away an extraordinary artistic ability that inspires them to pursue their creative endeavours and natural impulses. I want them to realize that they can have success in pursuing their dreams.”
As a teacher, Chancz sees his role as more suited to dismantling the colonial powers that are systemically, structurally, and culturally oppressing students of varying races, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities. “My aim is to foster and promote a safe space and healthy environment for all students to share, learn, explore, experience, and flourish in school as well as in the world we live.”

Coltrane Manz
Coltrane Manz is a 24 year-old proletarian working in local entertainment and healthcare. His pronouns are he/him, and his name comes from the legendary jazz saxophonist John Coltrane. Early on, Coltrane disappointed his namesake by taking up the trombone. Sparing us his 10-year rusty stylings on it, he will instead be performing a spoken word piece written in inspiration from a couple of years spent in hermit-like ponderance throughout the pandemic. His cats declined to comment on Coltrane's rehearsal method, though they assure you that the energy will speak for itself.

In between he has worked over 30 years in theatre - as an actor, publicist and administrator - in Denmark and in Canada. However, even after 26 years in his new home country, Paul Henrik is still hesitant to face an audience with the funny accent. But knowing what Copenhagen looks like from Valby Banke, and from much time spent in the neighborhood of The Round Tower, he thinks he has an advantage in conveying some of the unique Danish of Hans Christian Andersen - who would have turned 217 tomorrow. And it is guaranteed Disney free.
