Rita Omodia is an accomplished broadcast journalist, news anchor, and producer with over a decade of experience in television and radio. She has built a distinguished career reporting on African and international political affairs, community issues, and entertainment. Currently, Rita serves as an Associate Producer at CTV Your Morning Saskatchewan and is the host of The Naija Show on CJTR 91.3FM AccessNow Community Radio, which airs every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The program explores trending socio-political topics and celebrates Nigerians and other Africans making an impact in Regina and across Canada. Prior to her work in Canada, Rita anchored and reported for major African news outlets. She has conducted exclusive interviews with some of Africa’s most prominent political figures, including former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, Darkey E. Africa, Consul-General of the Republic of South Africa, and Jay Naidoo, a South African politician. Her journalistic work includes coverage of key political events such as the Angolan and Kenyan elections. In addition to her journalism career, Rita is a voice over artiste and has also served as Master of Ceremonies (MC) for numerous official functions, community gatherings, and entertainment events. With her deep understanding of African and global politics and her commitment to authentic storytelling, Rita continues to use her platforms to inform, inspire, and connect audiences across cultures.

Sandra Littletent is an Elder from the Kawacatoose First nation Reserve. She was a Residential School Survivor. She went on in life and became a mother of 6 children, 22 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Sandra Also fostered and adopted many many children throughout the years. Her resiliency has led her back into her cultural way of life and was able to overcome her traumas and went on to live a beautiful life with her Children. She resided in Regina most of her life where her healing journey began, she regained her sense of identity back and took back her power being an indigenous first nations woman. Even though she lived in the city she always made time to go back n forth from Regina to her reserve to practice and continue her cultural ways. Over the years she has educated and passed down many teachings and guided her family to learn their traditional ways and also guided them back to the cultural song and dance. Travelling for many years with her family on the pow wow trail it helped her in her healing journey and was able to help her children heal. In the late 2000 she formed a dance troupe Called the Kawacatoose Boys singers and dancers. The family group travels sharing culture song and dance throughout Saskatchewan spreading a positive message of hope and most importantly healing together. Sandra broke down those barriers that held her back in her early years and overcame trials and tribulations in life and set out to stop the cycle of trauma. Today her and her Husband Joe of 48 years learned how to not only heal together but also stand strong together in taking back a sense of who they are. Today their sons and daughters continue to pass down their teachings to their children and now successfully run cultural programs throughout the city and reserves in which they both fully support them. Together they all heal as a family.

Kawacatooose Boyz Singers and dance troupe is a family group who travel together sharing cultural song and dance through the heartbeat of Mother Earth. They Heal together through song and dance; they are an intergenerational family group who range from 7 years old to 72 years old. They have travelled throughout Saskatchewan sharing and spreading a positive message of hope and healing. The family group not only shares a little of who they are as Indigenous people, but they also captivate the talent of the younger singers and dancers. Together they spread the message by walking together in Truth and Reconciliation the way the Creator indented it.

They generously offered their care and talent into this musical magic. Hoping to reach the daydreamers, hopeless romantics, and overthinkers with their music that combines indie singer songwriter, folk, and a hint of pop influence. Newer to the music scene as a band, each member has had previous experience. They are very excited to share this collaboration with you!

With a unique poetry style described by many as celestial, Eric Gabriel, also known by his pseudonym; Gabriel 'ArchAngel' Ehijie, is a Pan-African writer, spoken-word poet, screenwriter, copywriter, and aspiring filmmaker who has graced platforms such as: ‘WS80’ (an International Cultural Exchange Program curated by Nigerian Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, in Ogun state, Nigeria; 2014), ‘Association of Nigerian Authors’ convention; 2016, ‘Lagos Theater Festival'; 2018, ‘Nigerian Institute of Architects Fellowship Investiture & Dinner’; 2019, 'BBC Media Action'; 2021, 'SaskArts: Arts of Celebration'; 2024, amongst others. Longlisted for the Economic Commission for Africa's SDG Decade of Action Short Story Prize in 2021, he also won the best written poem in the Institute of Afrikology Resource Centre's 'Heritage Month Poetry Competition' held the same year. The interdisciplinary artist and co-author of the collective novel ‘Isles’ is currently a student at the UoR, where he is taking a program in the M.A.P faculty. Fondly called #astralpoet by his friends, Eric has been opportune to serve in the capacity of communications consultant for the United Nations arm stationed in Nigeria, between the years of 2021 and 2022. He is also an alumni of the EbonyLife Creative Academy in Nigeria, where his short film script; 'Shikari,' won the award of best screenplay for his intake. His spoken word poem, 'Omije’, which claimed the award for Best Soundtrack at the 2017 edition of the 'InShort Film Festival', Nigeria; having been featured in the short film ‘Ajeji,’ is a crowd's favorite that touches on religion, identity, and socio-political revolution. A passionate student of the human experience, Eric is a believer in the psycho-social healing properties of art, and is constantly seeking new ways to aid in that healing process which our planet desperately needs, now more than ever. It is Eric’s earnest hope that this year’s RCT project will not only be a stunning performance, but also an addition to the canon of creative works which seek to unite all peoples through an understanding of the commonality of being human.
