This years special March Madness 2023 edition of Inside the Creative Mind will feature new work from the RISER Regina artists, Carla Harris, and Arthur Milner.

  • Wednesday, March 8 at 7:30pm - The Story of The Spotted Cat and the Swallow Sinha

    • Marlene Manso Beltran and team introduce Canadian audiences to The Spotted Cat and the Swallow Sinha, a Brazillian fable about love, happiness, acceptance, and diversity that comes to us from Brazil. Marlene is adapting this classic story with clown and puppets as part of RISER Regina 2023. Public discussion will be led by Mary Blackstone.

  • Thursday, March 9 at 7:30pm - “You’re Invited!” Meet Annette, Her Friends, and the Best Slumber Party Ever!

    • Join select cast and creative team from “Annette is a Bimbo!” as they welcome you into the process of creating the best slumber party ever! Playwright Carson Walliser will lead an introduction to the creation process, influences, design,  and some of the surprises in store for “Annette!” when it opens as part of RISER Regina 2023Public discussion will be led by Leanne Groeneveld.

  • Friday, March 10 at 7:30pm - The Rehearsal In Process

    • Creators Jessica Gares, Tai Reign, and Shawn Koch (aka Salt and Battery Collective), invite you into the room as The Rehearsal is crafted for RISER Regina 2023. While rehearsing their latest project, three artists are thrown for a loop after the discovery of a mysterious energy, forcing them to confront privilege, experience, and their own biases.

  • Saturday March 11 at 7:30pm - An Introduction to Playwright Ibukun-oluwa Fasunhan

    • Ibukun-oluwa Fasunhan hosts a reading from two of his plays and hosts a discussion: Rites of Passage is a new play dealing with immigration and what it means to become Canadian and will be presented as part of RISER Regina 2023, and Breathe deals with the realities of being an asthmatic living in the grips of a global pandemic while living in a country where that pandemic was used for profit. Public discussion will be led by Arthur Milner.

  • Sunday, March 12 at 2:00pm - Musicality and the Mind: ‘When Liz Caught up with Ellie’

    • Carla Harris and company present selections from a work in progress detailing the experience of neurodiversity and the difficult journey to diagnosis. Using interdisciplinary storytelling, and music from improvisational musician Clinton Ackerman, When Liz Caught Up with Ellie shares the story of the body’s internal knowledge as a part of the disabled experience. Public discussion will be led by Mary Blackstone.

  • Sunday, March 12 at 7:30pm - A Meeting of Minds: A Reading of ‘Tommy & Père’

    • A reading of a new play from renowned playwright Arthur Milner. Tommy & Père takes us to an imaginary encounter between two Saskatchewan superheroes — Tommy Douglas and Father Athol Murray — in the stormy days before the proclamation of Medicare. Public discussion will be led by Mary Blackstone.

Dancing Together: A Celebration
