My life-long attraction to theatre derived first from its capacity to transport and transform a space full of people through shared lived experience. It has the capacity to effect small and large changes in individuals and for a few minutes at least construct a community.
With Heart and Conviction | World Theatre Day, 2022
My earliest memories are of seeing my mother rehearse with the local Gilbert & Sullivan society. As I sat in the front row of the theatre, I didn’t know what I was watching but I could feel the elevated emotion, the exhilaration, the power of it. It was different from everyday life and therefore important.
