Proudly making its LIVE theatre debut, Breaking the Curse is an honest and inclusive exploration of menstruation for all. Through a tapestry of true stories collected from across the prairies, ranging from irreverent and humorous to touching (and sometimes cringey), Rachel Walliser fearlessly brings the individual and shared experiences of menstruation to the stage. This show is appropriate for ages 12 and up.

At the 2022 Saskatoon & Area Theatre Awards, the original production of Breaking the Curse was awarded The Trailblazer Award and The Innovation Award, as well as The Excellence in New Work Award for playwright Rachel Walliser. The production was additionally nominated for The Production Excellence Award.

Breaking the Curse was originally produced by 25th Street Theatre & Ferre Play Theatre in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Playwrights Centre.

RISER is supported by the Government of Canada, RBC Foundation, and a community of Senior Partners. RISER Regina is presented by On Cue Performance Hub & Why Not Theatre.
