Alan Rickman is best known for his work as a theatre and film director and actor. With Katharine Viner he edited the award-winning play MY NAME IS RACHEL CORRIE, published by Dramatists Play Service, Inc. Recently, Rickman directed THE WINTER GUEST for the West Yorkshire Playhouse and Almeida Theatre in London. He also directed productions of MY NAME IS RACHEL CORRIE in London for the Royal Court Theatre and at the Playhouse Theatre (Best New Play and Best Director, Theatre Goer Awards) and in New York at The Minetta Lane Theatre. Films as an actor include “Bottle Shock,” “Sweeney Todd,” “Nobel Son,” “Perfume,” “Snow Cake” and the “Harry Potter” series. He also directed a film version of THE WINTER GUEST, which won Best First Film at the Venice Film Festival and Best Film at the Chicago Film Festival.

Katharine Viner is the features editor of "The Guardian" newspaper. She was previously editor of the "Guardian Weekend" magazine, where she was twice named newspaper magazine editor of the year, and has also worked for "The Sunday Times." With Alan Rickman she edited the award-winning play MY NAME IS RACHEL CORRIE, which has shown in London, New York, Athens, Lima, Gothenburg, and many other cities. It opened in Israel in March 2008.

Early in 2021 I visited the Middle East. I was disturbed by the obvious inequities and constant military presence in daily life there. I wanted to find a way to express what I was seeing. I found this brilliant play. I booked a venue and contacted artists, then COVID-19 closed the theatres. The following 2 years consisted of plans being made then cancelled over and over as we all learned how to live in a world where COVID-19 affects everything. The wait was definitely worth it. It meant I was able to connect with this fabulous team of artists. It meant I could join On Cue’s season. I am extremely pleased to finally bring this powerful play to Regina and Saskatoon audiences. Amanda Trapp (she/they) is a Cree and Saulteaux/Austrian artist, member of the White Bear Band, who calls Saskatoon home. An actor and composer, selected credits include: The Invisible: Agents of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Catalyst Theatre; It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, Persephone Theatre; The Other Side of the River, Sum Theatre; exempt, Native Earth Performing Arts; Lady Macbeth and the Not Quite Dead, Musical TheatreWorks; The Penelopiad, Ferre Play Theatre (composer, SATA nominated). Amanda is a graduate of Sheridan College with an Honours Bachelor in Music Theatre Performance. “I’m beyond honoured to be bringing Rachel’s story and words to the stage. I hope you grow to love her like I have.”

Rania al-Harthi works in theatre, film, installation, Palestinian embroidery, and Arabic calligraphy. Her studio production consists of collapsed objects that incorporate sound, film projection, and performance. Current projects explore themes of diaspora and cultural memory through film; documentary and animation. She worked for nine years as an independent artist in Jordan, Palestine and Tunisia before coming to Canada in 2012. Since then, she has earned a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Regina and has worked for several arts organizations, including Globe Theatre, Curtain Razors and the Mackenzie Art Gallery.
